Prevention and Positive Activities (PPA) Coordinator. Working with men who have been involved in the Criminal Justice System feeling depressed, hopeless and at the edge of crisis. Hours 30 hours per week. Contract Type Permanent. Location Hybrid (working from home / office-based / in the community). Salary c. £25,000 full time dependent on qualifications and experience. Pro rata for part time. DBS Check Enhanced. About Mens Craft Mens Craft is a Norfolk-based charity focusing exclusively on the health and wellbeing of men. We support men facing life’s challenges or experiencing difficulties with their mental health. We offer information, activities and programmes and provide one-to-one support and access to other specialist services. Our range of activities give men purpose, the opportunity for connection with others, and for improved wellbeing. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all, regardless of age, gender identity, race, interactionual orientation, disability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and faith. About the Prevention and Positive Activities Role The PPA programme is funded by Public Health as part of Norfolk’s Suicide Reduction Strategy. The postholder will be support a caseload of men (18+) who are involved in the criminal justice system and experiencing a sense of hopelessness leading to suicidal ideation. Support will be provided via crisis intervention work, case recording, face-to-face work, advice giving, advocacy and other interpersonal work. The focus of support will be men who are at risk of suicide with a priority range of 40-75 years, with scope for other ages based on demand. These men will mainly be living locally to Norwich and central Norfolk, The role will require working collaboratively alongside the Greater Norwich Mens Craft PPA Team, the Anglia Care Trust, Community Chaplains, Probation and the Police among others and in the community with ex-offenders.
