When it comes to our employees, we value, respect, and help them grow in their careers. The Pressure Systems Inspector will support the SMAS Contract supporting NASA at Stennis Space Center. Pressure systems Inspector will provide support to the Pressure Vessel / Systems (PVS) Manager oriented toward existing pressure vessels and in-service piping systems. RESPONSIBILITIES: The inspector will be required to provide quality oversight of NDT and welding for NASA contractors in support of the PVS Program. The inspector will support and help implement PVS mechanical integrity initiatives and monitor and/or perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment. The inspector will support NASA Safety & Mission Assurance Office and provide assistance in maintaining and sustaining the elements of SSC's Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and Process Safety Management (PSM). The inspector will be required to provide support to the Stennis Pressure Systems Manager in assuring compliance with NASA, ASME, ASTM, National Board, and other applicable pressure system specifications and requirements. REQUIRED: This position has been posted at multiple levels. This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information. This position requires a Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain one. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have 7+ years of recent and related work experience. General knowledge of pressure systems components (i.e., valves, regulators, gauges, relief valves), their functions, and the ability to identify them in person. Ability to read and understand drawings, specifically Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Experience with Non-Destructive Testing methods per ASNT-TC1A. This position requires an individual to be capable of climbing, working at high elevations and in confined spaces, and identifying circumstances that necessitate the use of proper safety procedures and equipment. DESIRED: Previous Level II certification with Non-Destructive Techniques such as VT, UT, PT, MT, RT, PAUT both understanding requirements and results. Experience inspecting Layered Pressure Vessels. Familiarity with pressure vessel, piping, and component manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of NASA and aerospace pressure vessel requirements. WORK LOCATION: This position is located onsite. This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off. STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS: Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives. Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented. Must be organized with good time management skills. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task. Will work with, and around, standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.). Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time). ATTENDANCE: Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements. BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process. DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED: All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.
