Job Summary: Assistant to 1st Pressman and serves as a backup to printing functions in both 1st Pressman and Printing Feeder tasks. Job Duties/ Responsibilities: • Read order jacket, confirm size, style and copy information. • Sets-up register and hang/bends plates for job start-up. • Adds ink, water and proper coding to printing equipment. • Verifies stock is sufficient with regard to quality and quantity during job runs. • Understanding of different tolerances for the quality of job runs. • Runs and monitors sheet run. • Maintains a clean and safe working area. • Reports defects/safety concerns of equipment or material to Lead Operator and or Manager. • Assists with the completion of checklist and other production reporting requirements. • Understanding of quality manual and work instructions for printing operations. • Provides breaks for Lead man and Feeder. • Reports all food safety and quality problems to the Department Lead, Manager or Qualit Required Skills Job Requirements/ Qualifications: • Previous experience as a Printing Feeder. • Ability to read basic measurement tools and ability to read and follow proper work instructions. • Knowledge of coding and water-based inks. • Experience in performing preventative maintenance with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting • Strong mechanical aptitude/skills • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Ability to understand technical written and verbal instructions • Strong computer and math skills required • Ability to accurately distinguish color variation • Must be able to work other shifts if needed and perform overtime work as required. • Solid verbal and written communication skills • Frequent lifting (up to 75 pounds), bending and turning • Prior folding carton experience preferred Required Experience At Graphic Packaging International, we produce the paper cup that held your coffee this morning, the basket that transported those bottles of craft beer you enjoyed last weekend, and the microwave tray that heated your gourmet meal last night.
