Term of Appt: Jan 2 - Apr 4.24 (3 hrs /week) Start date: January 2, 2024 Reporting to: Associate Dean of Academic & Vocational Programs Salary: $44.28 - $55.11/hr, depending on experience and qualifications as per the BCGEU Faculty Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional 2% in lieu of benefits on regular earnings, 6% vacation and 4.2% statutory holiday pay included with each pay day. Description: NLC's Practical Nursing Program requires a temporary, part-time instructor to teach PNUR 120: Professional Communications for Practical Nurses. This course provides the learner an opportunity to develop professional communication skills with thee older adult, including end life care. Interprofessional communication is further developed. Qualifications: Required: Completion of an accredited Diploma in Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or another relevant undergraduate degree or professional qualification may be considered. Current practicing license as an LPN, RPN, RN or NP with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives or another relevant professional license. Minimum two years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian experience in a health care profession. Ability to function effectively as a team member. Committed to student motivation and achievement; and Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Preferred: Minimum two years (full-time equivalent) of recent Canadian Nursing experience or relevant health care professional experience. Teaching experience as a nurse or health care professional; and/or A credential in adult education, such as the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program.
