Power Plant Operator/MaintenanceSTATE OF IOWALocation: Anamosa State Penitentiary, Anamosa, IowaPay Range: ($50,544.00 - $65,998.40 annually,$24.30 - $31.73 hourly)Job Description: Perform advanced journey level work and leadoffenders in the operation and maintenance of the equipment atthe Power plant supplying utility services to a correctional facilitythat houses more than 1,000 offenders and about 300 staff. ThePower plant, which is located outside of the Penitentiary, housesfour 17,500 lb/hr boilers. Staff are responsible for operating threemegawatt of emergency backup electrical generation system,maintaining steam, water and sewer systems in the powerhouse,and maintaining two water wells and associated pumps andwater reservoir.
