Plant Maintenance Technician

The Plant Maintenance Technician plans, directs and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for concrete plant maintenance. Essential Functions: Concrete Plant Maintenance Ensures plants are able to run efficiently and effectively Approves and authorizes plant related maintenance transactions including PO's, services orders, and parts and supply orders Diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs plant equipment, electrical systems and equipment controls in a timely manner to ensure production schedules are met Prepares and schedules winter repairs and PM's Schedules preventive maintenance Schedules maintenance to reduce impact on production Communicates effectively Advises plant managers and operators of problems, potential problems, or schedule difficulties Collaborates with dispatch, operations and equipment Facilitates collaboration among plant personnel Promotes and maintains safe work environment. Exhibits safe work behaviors; evaluates work area for hazards; eliminates or controls hazards Wears all prescribed PPE Participates in daily safety huddles and safety training; follows safe work plans Reads and understands hazard signs, training materials, work plans, instruction manuals Required Education and Experience Experience in Industrial Maintenance or related field 3-5 years' experience working in industrial maintenance position Preferred Education and Experience Prior experience in concrete plant maintenance Competencies Accountability Communication Decision Making/Decision Quality Ethics/Integrity Instills Trust Develops Others Drives Results Resourcefulness Work Environment The work environment described here is representative of those that experienced by an employee performing the essential functions of this job. Some exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at concrete plants, including heights, moving vehicles, moving equipment, live wires, exposed wires Outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, precipitation, heat, humidity, dust, concrete, dirt Indoor office conditions that include regular exposure to office equipment, such as computers, copiers, mail machines, telephones Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Lifts, pushes, pulls, pours or carries heavy objects, loads of material, tools and repair parts Walks and stands for long periods of time Bends, stoops, squats, reaches to move materials and perform repairs Climbs in, out and under equipment; lays or stands under equipment Uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; Uses good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination, with the ability to quickly move arms and legs. Possess excellent stamina to work between 8-12 hours per day Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Hours are normally Monday through Friday, during business operating hours. During peak construction season, extended, evening, overnight, shift and weekend hours may be required. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Must pass a pre-employment drug screen Must adhere to drug free workplace and union substance abuse testing requirements If required to drive a company vehicle, must have or be able to obtain valid, state driver's license and meet company driver requirements EOE, including disability/veterans
