Plant Accountant Job ResponsibilitiesFinancial Close Processes:Take ownership of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Analyze financial data to prepare comprehensive financial summaries.Ensure precise and efficient results for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.Resource Efficiency and Strategic Recommendations:Analyze financial information to recommend resource optimization strategies.Provide strategic recommendations to operational leadership for process improvements.Chart of Accounts Management:Maintain and oversee the organization's chart of accounts.Ensure timely completion of periodic bank reconciliations.Accounts Payable and Receivable Oversight:Supervise the Accounts Payable process.Control vendor payments and manage Accounts Receivable.Monitor cash application, paying attention to aged invoices and credit limits.Cost Analysis and Recommendations:Review manufacturing costs, overhead expenses, and G&A costs.Provide recommendations for overhead absorption rates and cost management initiatives.Accurate Financial Recording:Ensure precise recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.Compliance and Reporting:Comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Inventory Management:Oversee physical inventory counts and reconciliation.RequirementsBachelor's Degree:A degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience.Communication Skills:Excellent oral and written communication in English.Interpersonal Skills:Strong interpersonal communication skills to resolve issues with colleagues and managers.Technical Accounting Knowledge:Proficiency in technical accounting concepts.Ability to provide guidance on complex accounting requirements.Independence and Organization:Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
