Description:
Our Community Development Department is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for an internship in our planning division. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced planners and gain valuable experience in the planning process for community development projects. The successful candidate will assist in conducting research, analyzing data, preparing reports, and participating in community outreach efforts. Responsibilities Assist in conducting research and analyzing data related to community development projects. Prepare reports on findings and recommendations to support planning decisions. Collaborate with the planning team to develop project proposals and design strategies. Attend and participate in community meetings and events to support outreach efforts. Assist in developing and implementing communication strategies to engage the City Council and community members. Provide support in managing project schedules and timelines. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Conducting basic office functions as needed, such as data entry, file management, and customer service. Qualifications Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program in planning, urban studies, geography, public administration, or related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect and analyze data from various sources. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of GIS and other mapping software preferred. Familiarity with community development principles and practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Rate of Pay This position is $16.00 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this position.
