JOB SUMMARY Print HCFA claim forms & supporting documents.Accurately process claims.Complete insurance letters.Process mail; scan and file proof of mailing. RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Claims Supervisor and the Billing Office Manager.Supervises: None QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School diploma or equivalent.Education/ training in business office activities preferred.Experience: Medical/ clerical office experience preferred. MENTAL DEMANDS Requires English language skills adequate for written, verbal, and telephone communication. Requires ability to adjust to frequent policy changes while maintaining quality and accuracy. Ability to mult-task and adjust schedule as needed. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Requires visual and auditory acuity adequate for frequent use of computers and other business equipment. Ability to sit for a long period. Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Supports the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the organization. Supports and performs according to approved policies and procedures. Contributes to the quality/performance improvement process. Observes safety measures in performance of job responsibilities. Communicates effectively with co-workers; interactions are respectful and courteous. Manually & electronically processes claims timely and accurately. Corrects and resubmits claims efficiently. Effectively manages time and multi-tasks frequently. Works as a team and assists co-workers in the claims department. Assists co-workers interdepartmentally: cross training is sometimes required. Consistently meets productivity targets. Assists with training of new employees and cross training. Participates in office meetings. Maintain current knowledge of policies, procedures, and billing guidelines. Proficient with Microsoft Word, general email, and the ability to learn new applications. Assists with mail processing.
