The role: Join our team as a Pilot Plant Engineer and play a key role in overseeing and optimizing our cutting-edge pilot-scale plants. This role is a combination of fieldwork, factory operations, and contributing to engineering design. Field shifts typically span 1-2 weeks at a customer site. While at site, you will be well supported by a strong team at headquarters. You will advance your technical skills while working closely with our experienced senior leaders and subject matter experts. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy hands-on work, this role is for you. Your main tasks will include: Operating pilot-scale industrial water treatment and lithium refining plants (training provided). Data collection, wet lab analysis, data interpretation, and data management (training provided). Learning about inorganic water chemistry, water treatment, lithium refining (through our expert staff), and building your skills to interpret data and make recommendations. Learning about Saltworks’ products, treatment processes, and pilot plant infrastructure. Writing completion reports as required. Contributing design feedback and ideas for improvement. Developing or advancing your hands-on skills to complete basic pilot plant maintenance work, while being supported by skilled tradespeople for advanced work. Utilizing and advancing your technical analysis and communication skills, especially related to engineering drawings, documentation, mass balances, results interpretation, problem solving, and innovation. .
