Position Overview: The Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit (IU5) has 2 Physical Therapist Summer openings. This is a contact position for itinerant ESY and Early Intervention Summer Services. This position is for June, July, and August only. The hours for the position will be up to 40 hours spanning the summer months. The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation, assessment, planning, goal development, and for providing appropriate intervention services designed to enhance the student's potential for learning. The PT will assist the student in acquiring the functional performance skills needed to participate in and benefit from the educational environment, and to help the student function independently. Pay Rate: $43.91 Required Qualifications: PA License in Physical Therapist Previous experience providing school based PT services preferred Essential Functions: Assesses students' functional capabilities and/or classroom environment for the purpose of determining student's functional level and developing recommendations and/or curriculum access Assesses students' gross motor and development skills (e.g. perceptual, motor, motor coordination, sensory development, muscle, strength, etc.) for the purpose of determining their deficits and developing recommendations Communicates with students, parents, teachers and/or other personnel for the purpose of evaluating situations, solving problems and/or resolving conflicts Consults with students, parents and guardians for the purpose of enhancing student access and mobility in school and in school related activities / functions Consults with teachers, parents, other personnel and/or outside professionals for the purpose of providing requested information, developing plans for services and/or making recommendations Coordinates with the IEP team for the purpose of determining appropriate treatments, etc. to meet the needs of specific students and attends IEP Team Meetings Develops treatment plans, interventions and/or educational materials from the IEP for the purpose of remediating students' motor skill deficits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Facilitates meetings, processes, etc. for the purpose of meeting curriculum guidelines and/or ensuring that state mandates are achieved Successful applicants will be required to submit acceptable PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA Criminal History Clearance and Federal History Clearance as well as complete forms Act 168 for current employer and any previous employer where the applicant worked directly with children. Additionally, a negative TB test will be required within 3 months of receipt of the test results by the IU. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
