Job Description: Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Philanthropic Giving, the Philanthropic Giving Officer will be a key member of development efforts at Arcadia University. The Philanthropic Giving Officer will be responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and emerging special and major gift ($10,000-$100,000) prospective donors. The Philanthropic Giving Officer will focus on providing a customized engagement experience for prospective donors through both digital and in-person interactions. Additionally the Philanthropic Giving Officer will assist in developing and implementing strategies for cultivating donor relationships, funding for university priorities and various donor interests. This position allows for remote work accommodations when traveling for donor visits. Location: Glenside Responsibilities : Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward new and emerging special and major gift prospective donors. This will include intermittent travel to visit with qualified alumni and friends of the university. Actively engage both assigned and unassigned prospective donors through person visits. Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 prospective donors with emphasis on gifts of $10,000 or more while also implementing cultivation and solicitation strategies for each assigned prospective donor. Partner and maintain relationships with University Advancement colleagues in Alumni Engagement and Advancement Services to effectively plan and strategize with regards to donor relationships and philanthropic giving. Partner with Advancement Services to update, maintain or adjust prospective donor portfolio. Maintain timely accurate contact reports of all donor interaction using Raisers Edge NXT. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree 1-3 years of a successful track record in upper level annual giving work in the non-profit sector Preference for experience in higher education. Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Superior oral, persuasion, and written skills. Fluency in fundraising terminology and higher education culture. Experience with a CRM. Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and knowledge about diversity, equity, and inclusion and embrace opportunities for continued growth in cultural competence. Valid driver's license Exceptional attention to detail; strong organizational skills and ability to plan. Proficiency in Microsoft Office One Drive, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds required. Must be available for occasional evening and weekend work. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects required.
