Permitting Engineer Co-Op/Intern A Permitting Engineer Co-Op/Intern at Mosaic for the Permitting Department is responsible for supporting the preparation, of all applicable land use permits required for the minerals and concentrates operations. Where will you work: FishHawk site located in Lithia, FL. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates. Term September 9 to December 20, 2024Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40 hrs a week on site. What will you do? Day to day work assignments assigned by the supervisor and could include:Project execution and management (including scope, schedule, budget, safety, quality, contractor management, etc.) Review all aspects related to permitting projects, including working with the various subject matter expert consultants, legal counsel, the preparation of permit applications, and on-site inspections and support of the Operations staffPrepare permit applications, and other written deliverablesCollaborate with Mosaic's Procurement team in developing scope of works, preparing requests for quotes and proposals (RFQs/RFPs), listing potential bidders, conducting pre-bid meetings, evaluating bids, writing purchase orders, etc.Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), environmental health and safety staff, and contractorsParticipation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignmentAdhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies What do you need for this role? Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Biology and/or Environmental policy or sciences.2.75 GPA or higherAbility to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is requiredPrevious internship or co-op experience is preferredReliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.Basic computer skills are requiredExperience working in a team environment is a mustFamiliarity with an industrial environment is highly desirableEffective verbal communication skills is a plusPhysical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environmentsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
