Payroll Specialist Department: Bene-Care Payroll DivisionReports To: Payroll Department ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptEmployment Status: Full-Time; Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm_____________________________________________________________________ Position Summary: The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing quality service to clients as it relates to all aspects of the payroll processing lifecycle. Communicates directly with clients; obtains and inputs information necessary for payroll production; assists with payroll tax questions; responds to/resolves client questions and concerns regarding payroll, human resources and compliance; delivers an excellent customer service experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communicate with clients to obtain payroll data and collect any missing information as needed; Enter customer payroll data to ensure accurate and timely processing; Maintain compliance with all payroll tax laws and regulations. Keep abreast of changes within the payroll industry including federal and multi-state tax changes; Train clients on payroll software; Maintain and update customer changes as they relate to the payroll system; add new employees, changes to deductions, update tax changes, etc.; Resolve client issues as they relate to payroll and tax matters, system issues, pay discrepancies, etc.; Assist clients with questions related to Human Resource compliance; Serve as a client liaison between other departments within Bene-Care; Handle the distribution process as it relates to printing, sealing and mailing out company payroll packages; Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): High School diploma or equivalent; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Outlook, Word; Must have strong attention to detail and possess an analytical, research-oriented mind set; Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential information is a must; Proficient mathematical skills and precise data entry skills; Ability to meet deadlines and maintain an effective workday schedule; Ability to work effectively within a team and independently; Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent; FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification); 1+ years' experience in the payroll field; payroll processing experience is desired. Special Notes: COVID-19: Due to the current global pandemic, Bene-Care is operating with a partially remote workforce, however this is not to expected to continue indefinitely. Permanent telecommuting arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis as needed; Upon hire, employee may be required to travel to Utah for a 1-week training on our payroll system; Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) will be required within the first year of employment. The employee may be required to complete the 12-week course and pass the exam. Payment for both the course and the exam will be provided by Bene-Care Payroll, LLC. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk, bend, use hands (i.e.: type, write), talk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
