Come join our team! 21ST Century Equipment, LLC JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE : Payroll Specialist REPORTS TO : Senior Accounting Manager DIRECT REPORTS : N/A WORKS CLOSELY WITH : Human Resources, Company People Managers, CFO POSITION SUMMARY: Payroll duties include maintaining employee pay and deduction information in the payroll system, timely submission of payroll to the payroll processor, ensuring compliance with multiple state and federal laws and regulations, responding to employee questions regarding payroll, posting payroll related expenses or payments into the accounting system, and reconciling payroll data and benefit data. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES: Payroll/Accounting duties may include any combination of following: Assist with payroll processing and maintaining employee pay and deduction information in the payroll system Compiling and sorting documents and organizing in a logical manner to substantiate payroll transactions Updating payroll records by entering any changes to employee information or benefits changes Posting payroll expenses/liability payments into the business system Produce reports for management as requested Resolving payroll discrepancies and answering employee payroll queries Maintaining all payroll operations according to company policy and procedures Reconcile payroll deductions to benefit plan statements Review payroll tax filings prepared by the payroll processor and forward any tax notices to the payroll processor support team for follow-up Maintain confidentiality regarding employee and company information Other duties as assigned GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Experience with MS Office specifically Excel spreadsheets Experience with payroll, wage & hour law compliance (preferred, not required) Experience with iSolved HCM/payroll platform (preferred, not required) Experience with CDK ERP system (preferred, not required) COMPETENCIES : Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet strict deadlines and attention to detail Ability to work independently, multi-task, create task lists and follow to completion General knowledge of accounting PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Extended periods of sitting and extensive hours on a computer and phone. **If a job offer is made for this position, it will be contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug test and determination of insurability for positions that require driving. If the drug test comes back positive or you are not insurable for a position that requires driving, the job offer will be rescinded.
