Job Overview: We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our Accounting team. The Payroll Manager will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations while planning and directing work processes to protect assets of the company. Qualifications: College degree in Accounting 3-5 years of experience in Accounting setting 3-5 years of supervisory experience. Prefer experience in trucking industry Prefer ADP payroll experience Good data entry skills -- accuracy very important Good working knowledge of computer/PC software (WORD, EXCEL, AS/400). Innovative Software background helpful Excellent supervisory and communications skills Ability to pass pre-employment drug test Excellent work history with proven track record Professional, clean, neat appearance No conviction of felonies, serious crimes or have charges pending. However, a conviction is not an automatic disqualification of employment. Travel if needed Ability to work independently. Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter. Ability to plan and organize workload. Ability to handle very detailed information. Ability and flexibility to handle work pressure and work with interruptions. Ability to meet work processes deadlines. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to function as a team player. Ability to handle CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION absolutely essential. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers, employees, vendors, consultants and auditors in professional manner. Willingness to learn and accept responsibility. Good knowledge of acceptable accounting standards. Ability to audit and screen accounting reports for errors. Ability to analyze data for accurate reporting. Managerial and leadership skills. Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Responsibilities: Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Maintain Fleet Manager data and processes. Reviews and approves weekly payroll reports prior to final settlement. Processing of weekly payroll in the AS400 and Fleet Manager systems. Submission of direct deposit file to the bank. Filing of weekly, quarterly, and year-end tax deposits. Including withholding and unemployment. Assist with year-end W2 processing. Compiles information and completes various required government reports on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis, including but not limited to payroll tax reports Assist payroll and imaging clerks with day-to-day payroll question and procedures. Assist input of payroll when needed. Prepares, maintains and reconciles accounting schedules on various General Ledger payroll accounts. Monitors employee and EFS advances. Prepares weekly and monthly schedules. Leads the Payroll Department in ISO Quality Management System methodology and ensures that Job Descriptions and Work Instructions are applicable and up-to-date. Uses Work Instructions in training new employees. Demonstrates support to the Epes Transport System, LLC Quality Management System and its objectives, as applicable. Performs other duties as may become necessary or assigned.
