7 East Medical Care Unit is an exciting, innovative, dynamic, fast-paced, 38-bed, acute care unit, and the first-choice unit for patients with diabetes, metabolic disorders, asthma, as well as numerous other general medical disorders.7 East is known for its teamwork and multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of quality patient care. We value life-long learning, which is evident in the caring and expert way in which we welcome and train new team member and in how we support continued learning for all our staff. We continuously reflect on our practices, staff development and patient outcomes to ensure that we consistently provide high quality and safe patient care. The 7 East team is known for its teamwork and supportive work environment. In collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care delivery team, under the direction of the Registered Nurse perform basic nursing care activities, assist in maintaining a safe, clean, stocked patient care setting, assist staff members and help direct patient flow . Qualifications Minimum EducationHigh School Diploma or GED (Required) Minimum Work Experience1 year Experience in a health care setting if possible pediatrics; one semester clinical experience completed at an accredited school of nursing or military corpsman training. (Preferred) Required Skills/KnowledgeBasic computer skills (typing, use of mouse, e-mail).Knowledge of aseptic technique.Basic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).Human relations and interpersonal skills.
