The candidate will handle patent prosecution matters, including preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications, while also engaging in practice development activities to maintain client relationships. Duties:Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark OfficeConduct prior art searches and analysisPerform patentability analysis and IP due diligenceEngage in practice development activities to build and maintain client relationshipsPrepare substantive client correspondenceInstruct local counsel for foreign filings and Office ActionsAssist in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projectsStudy and analyze scientific or technical documents to assess patentability, novelty, and inventivenessConvert provisional applications into utility applicationsConvert foreign filed applications into U.S. applications and vice versa Requirements:Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or eligible to sit for the USPTO patent agent examBachelor’s degree (or graduate degree) preferably in electrical engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, or mechanical engineering2+ years of experience prosecuting or examining patent applications in the electrical arts, preferably display and battery technology and optics Skills:Proficiency in written and verbal communicationStrong organizational skillsExcellent writing and research abilitiesAbility to apply advanced concepts in any life sciences field, with emphasis on molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry Certifications:Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office or eligible to sit for the USPTO patent agent exam Benefits Offered:The total compensation package may include medical, financial, and other benefits such as 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave benefits, dependent on the position offered.
