This position involves providing expert tax advice to individual and business clients, specializing in federal, state, and local tax matters, corporate formation, acquisitions, mergers, restructurings, and other transactional needs.Job Overview: The Partnership Track Tax Associate Attorney will play a vital role in advising clients on complex tax issues and strategic business transactions. This position requires in-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and the ability to provide clients with well-informed guidance to optimize their financial situations.Duties:Advise clients on federal, state, and local tax implications related to various business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings.Offer expert guidance on corporate formation, choice of entity, and federal tax audits, including administrative appeals.Assist clients in managing relationships with state and local taxing authorities to ensure compliance.Conduct legal research and provide well-documented, insightful solutions to complex tax issues.Maintain strict attention to detail and filing deadlines to prevent costly errors and legal complications.Collaborate with a team of legal professionals and clients to achieve optimal results.Utilize impeccable research and writing skills to draft legal documents and communicate effectively with clients.Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation.Eligibility to take the Louisiana Bar exam if licensed outside of Louisiana.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to clients.Strong work ethic and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.Proactive and an initiative-taker who can work both independently and as part of a team.Superior academic credentials, showcasing a strong academic record.Former Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, government experience, and/or experience with international tax issues are a plus.Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degreeMaster of Laws (LL.M.) in TaxationCertifications:Eligibility and willingness to obtain the Louisiana Bar if not already licensed in Louisiana.Skills:Excellent communication skillsStrong work ethicImpeccable research and writing skillsAttention to detail and filing deadlinesCollaborative team playerKnowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulationsExperience with international tax issues (preferred)Former CPA certification (preferred)Benefits: The law firm offers a range of benefits to its employees, including:People-driven cultureA well-defined path to partnershipHighly competitive salariesGenerous paid time offComprehensive benefits package, including paid health, life, disability, dental, and vision coverage401(k) retirement plan For more than three decades this law firm has provided lasting services to their clients.
