Part Time Tax Analyst

ABOUT THE JOB: As a part time/fractional associate you will provide tax support services to Jefferson Capital Systems, including supporting documentation, organization, and effective tax planning. You will provide Finance, Legal and external 3rd Party tax advisors support as a conduit for data requests and deliverables. In addition, you will assist in developing tax strategies to ensure on-time delivery of all tax requirements. A DAY IN THE LIFE: Develop tax calendar with deliverable requirements to ensure timely tax filings for state and federal. Supporting the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in completing tax due diligence requirements provided to 3rd party tax advisors. Assist with annual federal and state tax filings, including partnering with accounts payable for tax payments and extension requirements. Work with the Legal department on franchise and excise tax requirements. Partnering with Accounts Payable for all necessary Sales and Use Tax filings for multiple states. Organizing international tax requirements for international subsidiaries. Manage all tax notices and correspondence requirements. Partner with 3rd Party tax advisors on tax research and timing of tax filings. Reviewing tax filings for accuracy, prior to filing. Working with treasury department in establishing tax IDs for potential new entities. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: BS/BA College Degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or related field. Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a related Tax role. Experience in the financial services industry desired. Prior experience assisting with company tax processes and data modeling. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Microsoft Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Solid acumen in the areas of business and logical thought process. Analytical and critical reasoning skills; problem solving skills. Ability to assess issues and visualize possible solutions to meet tax objectives. Strong communication skills; ability to be influential through both written and verbal interactions with a variety of audiences. Possesses great interpersonal and leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented and able to multi-task. Possess a strong work ethic, high ethical standards & ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
