Everyday thousands of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests enjoy the many amenities and opportunities the IMU has to offer.Job SummaryThe Indiana Memorial Union Facilities team is responsible for maintaining, fixing, and applying preventative work all across the nearly 500,000 square feet of this IU icon.Department-Specific Responsibilities Keeps building and facilities in clean and orderly condition. Performs heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing refuse. Performs routine light maintenance activities, notifies management of need of repairs.Services, supplies and cleans restrooms. Collects recyclables. Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures. Moves and relocates furniture. Replaces lightbulbs. Mixes water and detergent or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications. Strip, seals, and polishes floors. Clears sidewalks, drives, and adjacent areas. Shovels snow. Keeps custodial supply closet orderly and stocked with adequate chemicals, equipment, and toiletries. Locks and unlocks building. Maintains awareness of building and facilities.
