CVA is currently seeking part-time Direct Support Professional staff for weekend shifts . This is an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking field experience in health care, mental health human services, or the non-profit sector. The Direct Support Professional (DSP): Aids and assists with all self-help skills as deemed necessary, while striving to help the individual in developing progress towards specified goals. Participates in any activities or programs to ensure enjoyable and constructive use of time. Provides general nursing care for medication administration, hygiene tasks, and nutrition. (Dependent upon program) Provides the necessary guidance to individuals as specified in their Individual Support Plan (ISP) to assist the individual in becoming more independent. Assists individuals in maintaining a safe, clean and comfortable living environment by performing general housekeeping duties, which may include making beds, cooking meals, laundry, care of equipment, etc. Develops and utilizes skills necessary to make pertinent behavioral observations. Develops awareness of the individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP). Observes, institutes, and records the individual's progress towards the annual Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals. Participates in the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) for each individual. Provides input to monthly staffing meetings. Assists individuals in actively participating in their community including but not limited to shopping, paying bills, as well as recreational activities. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License, car insurance and dependable vehicle 18 years of age or older Physical ability to push, pull or lift 15 to 20 lbs. regularly Caring, compassionate, with an interest in helping others succeed Salary: $17.00/hour up to $20.00*/hour, and raise at 6 months. * Shift differentials apply Job Type: Part-Time Benefits for all employees include: Magellan Company Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that includes: Discount Center Legal & Counseling services Wellness Center YMCA membership discount Lone Star Physiques Membership discount PAID TRAINING may include, and not limited to: DMH Level 1 Medication Administration certification CPR and First Aid certification Mandt certification Abuse and Neglect training Annual HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Universal Precautions and PPE trainings.
