Part Time Instructor - Phlebotomy

Position Details: As a Phlebotomy Instructor, you will be responsible for educating and training students in the proper techniques for blood collection, handling, and processing. You will create and deliver lesson plans, conduct practical demonstrations, and evaluate student performance to ensure they acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to become competent phlebotomists. Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Design and develop curriculum content for phlebotomy courses. Update and revise course materials to align with industry standards and best practices. Instructional Delivery: Conduct classroom lectures, presentations, and discussions on phlebotomy theory and techniques. Provide hands-on training and demonstrations in a laboratory setting. Supervision and Guidance: Oversee and guide students during practical sessions, ensuring proper blood collection procedures. Provide constructive feedback and support to students for skill improvement. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, and exams to evaluate student understanding. Evaluate and grade student performance in both theoretical and practical aspects of phlebotomy. Equipment and Safety: Instruct students on the proper use of phlebotomy equipment and emphasize safety protocols. Ensure a safe and sterile environment during practical sessions. Industry Updates: Stay informed about advancements in phlebotomy techniques, tools, and regulations. Incorporate relevant industry updates into the curriculum. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Provide reports to the administration as required. Professional Development Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends and teaching methodologies. Minimum Qualifications: Certification as a phlebotomist or medical laboratory technician. Previous teaching or training experience is an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Supervisory Responsibilities: 0 Full-Time Direct Reports 0 Part-Time Direct Reports Physical Demands and Work Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. No or very limited exposure to physical risk. Safety: Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety. Salary Range & Fringe Benefits: Pay is commiserate with education and experience.
