Paid Media Director, Student Turnout Projects

The Student Turnout Projects (STP) are a collection of state-based organizations working to get out the vote on college campuses in four key states in 2024. Leveraging creative and scrappy digital and in-person tactics, our team based at Strategic Victory Fund (SVF) supports in-state leaders as they build and run programming.This role will begin in June 2024 and runs through January 2025.What will you do?As SVF invests in Student Turnout Projects and in-state communications hubs, your job will be to develop a vision for how investments into youth-focused communications and digital programs ought to be leveraged and support the build-out of that vision. As part of this, you will do the following in partnership with state-based leaders:ResponsibilitiesWork with in-state leaders to develop paid media plans, keeping in mind creative and budget best practicesSupport execution of paid media plans, including project management amongst various stakeholdersServe as creative advisor to in-state teams and comms hubs on young votersOversee and guide research efforts; ensure dispersal of research to key stakeholdersWork with Digital Content Strategist to develop messaging guidance and student-driven contentRepresent Student Turnout Projects at paid media coordinating tablesWork with Special Projects Director to design trainings for other programmatic priorities as neededWe recognize that it is highly unlikely that even well-qualified candidates will meet 100% of the qualifications for a role. If much of this job description describes you, please apply for this role.The ideal candidate:Will have 2-4 years of paid media experience, either at an agency or on a campaign (or similar experience). Ideally you have done some of the following:Built and managed a paid media program Provided creative feedback to both creative professionals and to amateurs/studentsLeveraged qualitative and quantitative research to improve messaging and programming Developed and maintained relationships with partner organizations. Having existing relationships with key players in the space is a plus.Enjoys working with students and mentoring the next generationUnderstands campus organizing and organizing theory, and how digital programming can fit inIs comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. You're flexible to a changing environment and excited to "build the plane while flying it."Is able to work weekends and irregular hours as required.Salary starts at $90,000/year and is commensurate with experience. This role begins in May 2024 and runs through January 2025. The role is located in Washington D.C. but exceptional candidates may be able to work remotely.
