Triple V ( https://www.triple3v.org/ ) is seeking an Outreach Coordinator for a direct hire position in the La Jolla area. This is an onsite role with operations Tuesday through Saturdays, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm. Who we are: Triple V is dedicated to showcasing the accomplishments of talented students, and we’re proud to be a platform that helps youth inspire youth.Through our scholarship opportunities, mentorships, and leadership summits, we help motivate students while celebrating their successes. Unlike many other student advocacy organizations that solely focus on academics, we spotlight a variety of fields, including the performing arts and entrepreneurship. What will you do: The Outreach Coordinator, who reports to the Operations Manager(s), is responsible for connecting with the community and building relationships with organizations in order to support the mission of Triple V. The Outreach Coordinator is an excellent communicator with a passion for inspiring youth. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflects the essential duties for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities of this job at any time. Coordinate community outreach efforts for the organization Meet with inspiring youths and their guardians to learn about their accomplishments and share information about Triple V’s programs and services Develop and maintain partnerships with organizations such as schools, competitions, athletic programs, etc., to promote programs and services Responsible for planning and executing outreach events Research resources for youth; stay on top of trends and available support Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual program and activity reports Assist with special projects as requested Ensure work duties are performed in accordance with company safety policies and procedures; ensure client programs follow safety protocols Represent Triple V’s values on a daily basis What will you have to be successful: Service Orientation - Actively look for ways to help people. Public Speaking - Ability to talk to individuals and groups to convey information effectively Teamwork - Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including volunteers, board members, independent contractors, and employees Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times Attention to Detail - Must be detail-oriented and able to proofread and correct errors in documents, systems, and calendars Time Management - Manage one's own time and meet deadlines. Communication - Must be able to communicate so others may understand. Social Perceptiveness - Be aware of others' reactions and understand why they react as they do Cultural Competence - Acknowledgement, understanding, and appreciation of cultural differences, ability to embrace diversity Decision Making - Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the most appropriate one Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong Troubleshooting - Determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do about it Physical Demands - Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time; ability to remain stationary for extended periods; push, pull, and bend as necessary What will your experience and education look like: Bachelor’s degree in Communication or Business preferred Previous customer service work experience Prior nonprofit experience is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
