Our client, Hawthorne House, is looking for an Operations Assistant. Hawthorne House Inc. is the parent company of three distinct business divisions, Hawthorne House, a furnishings and decorating showroom; Scope Lighting, a lighting showroom and lighting design firm; and Lisa Ellis Design, an interiors and architectural design firm for both residential and commercial projects. Click here to learn more! SUMMARY The Operations Assistant is key to the continued growth of Hawthorne House. The ideal candidate must be able to work directly alongside the Showroom Manager, identifying opportunities to improve workflow and take on daily operational tasks, from bookkeeping to building maintenance. The Operations Assistant must be able to pay attention to the details. RESPONSIBILITIES Directly report to the Showroom Manager Code and track all transactions in QuickBooks Handle all incoming and outgoing mail Ensure all bills/open invoices are paid Assist in processing and tracking orders Prepare month-end statements for Controller Manage all building maintenance Collaborate with showroom and design firm to assess administrative needs to help, create, and implement solutions Onboard new employees Establish and maintain the administrative process within the organization QUALIFICATIONS Experience with QuickBooks Self-motivated and detail-oriented Excellent organization and communication skills macOS proficiency preferred Experience in MS Office PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time Use computer for the majority of the day Qualified candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for the position.
