Posting Identification Number 37351 Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Office Associate for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois to perform a variety of complex, specialized clerical information and assistance, keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support functions. Ensures compliance with applicable Department and Facility policies, procedures and forms guidelines. Job Responsibilities Performs a variety of complex, specialized clerical information and assistance, keyboarding, record processing, secretarial and general office support functions for Shapiro Center. Provides clerical assistance to residential and support areas. Determines proper format and modes of address. Participates in training for computer software applications and standard computer equipment. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at a minimum net rate of 45 words per minute. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
