The candidate will handle various employment-related litigation and advisory tasks, defend against claims and agency charges of discrimination, and play a pivotal role in mentoring junior associates. This position is ideal for a seasoned attorney with deep expertise in employment law, looking to contribute to a dynamic team and take on a leadership role within the firm.Duties:Defend and litigate various employment-related cases, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.Represent employers in court proceedings, arbitrations, mediations, and before administrative agencies in both individual and class/collective actions.Provide strategic legal advice and counsel to employers on various employment and labor law issues, ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations.Develop and conduct training sessions for clients on employment law best practices and compliance.Manage caseload independently, from initial intake to trial or settlement, including strategy development, discovery, and courtroom presentation.Act as a mentor to junior associates, guiding them in case management, legal research, and trial preparation.Serve as first or second chair in trials, demonstrating strong litigation skills and the ability to present cases in court effectively.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law, with substantial litigation experience.Must be admitted to the California Bar or can obtain admission promptly.In-depth understanding of state and federal agency procedures related to employment disputes.Proven first or second-chair trial experience is highly preferred.Strong project management skills, capable of handling complex cases with minimal supervision.Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Current membership in the California State Bar or ability to gain admission.Skills:Profound legal research and analytical skills.Exceptional interpersonal and mentoring skills to guide and develop less experienced attorneys.Strong leadership and client management abilities.Effective organizational and time management skills to handle a significant caseload.Proficient in utilizing legal research tools and technology to streamline workflow.This Of Counsel position offers a significant opportunity for a seasoned attorney to leverage their extensive legal expertise in a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
