A bout CASA CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital. CASA’s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes backssment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs. About the Role Reporting to the Clinical Manager and working with the Professional Practice Lead of Rehabilitation, the Occupational Therapist provides backssment, intervention and consultation. Their goal is to support CASA patients and families affected by fine motor, gross motor and related disorders. The Occupational Therapist will: Provide backssment of deficits in fine motor, gross motor, self-care, leisure, productivity and school readiness/functioning resulting from physical, cognitive, developmental, sensory and psychosocial impairments or environmental impacts. Interpret test results in conjunction with other related medical, behavioural and educational information to identify motor and related disorders. Provide information and instructions to assist families in understanding clinical conditions and ongoing care and management. Consult and provide advice and educational services to patients and families regarding fine motor, gross motor and related disorders. Accurately document findings in the electronic health record. Act as a resource and provide supportive training to team members to assist in their professional development.
