TGH Home Care powered by VNA of Florida provides a full array of home care services for TGH patients, and those in the community needing home care. This office continues the same level of care and experience received at Tampa General Hospital. The Visiting Nurse Association of Florida (VNA) is a 45-year-old home health agency that is vastly growing. We are seeking an Exceptional Certified Oasis and Coding Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. Will be responsible to review/scrub oasis documentation Education to clinicians. Be willing to drive to the offices for education if needed. Remote SUMMARY To assist in the overall Performance Improvement Program, this evaluates the quality and appropriateness of patient care through a systematic process of documentation review. To assist the agency and patient care staff in obtaining and verifying appropriate documentation, and ensure optimum informational access in patient files according to Federal, State and Agency guidelines while maintaining patient confidentiality. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Complies with agency Policy Manual, Process Manual, Personnel Manual, and VNAA Procedure Manual. Is well versed in coverage/compliance issues with the Medicare guidelines for home health. Monitors and updates staff on latest OASIS Assessment techniques and strategies. Ensures that documentation in patient records complies with agency, State, and Medicare regulations. Notifies Supervisors of any problems or deficiencies. Performs quarterly Clinical Record Review audits of patient charts and directs Performance Improvement Meetings. Notifies DPS of any trends/deficiencies in practice identified and recommends appropriate educational programs. Assist nursing supervisors with plans for correction and follow-up. Performs reviews on any records requested by attorneys, clients, or subpoenas and alerts DPS to any sensitive areas. Coordinates Medicare intermediary correspondence in the clinical areas, to include handling all inquiries and requests for clinical documentation. Investigates OBQI/OBQM reports and provides staff training to foster improvements. Acts as a consultant to staff regarding quality care, documentation and legal issues. Performs training, in those issues, to clinical staff as needed. Responsible for obtaining Physician's signed orders, enlists the assistance of MSR/Clinical Manager/Administrator/Medical Direct as needed to ensure Physician's Orders are signed timely. Assists System Administrator with accurately maintaining Physician/Facility database in HCHB. Prepares/maintains Medical Records archiving/destruction base on retention policy. Maintains client/patient confidentiality in accordance with Florida law and the Health Insurance Portability Act (HIPPA). Performs other duties as assigned by DPS. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Page 2 of 2 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor of Science in Nursing from four-year College or university preferred; must be a Registered Nurse and currently licensed in the State of Florida. Minimum of one year experience with agency and three years ' experience in home health with background in Quality Improvement/Risk Management.
