The Primary Care Network consists of 15 clinical sites caring for more than 100,000 patients across the Cincinnati Tri-State region. The Primary Care Network is looking for a Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of Ohio to provide clinical effort at the Timothy Freeman, MD, Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The Freeman Center strives to be a national leader in providing specialized, coordinated, patient-centered care to adults with IDD. Preferred applicants would have experience working with adults with IDD. Essential Functions Provide primary care to adults with a variety of intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and many rarer syndromes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team. Communicate with multiple specialists within the health system to coordinate care. Document findings, plan, and actions taken according to departmental guidelines and standards. Diagnose disease or study medical conditions using techniques such as gross pathology, histology, cytology, cytopathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests. Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Monitor the effectiveness of interventions. Maintain a working knowledge of relevant medical/legal issues that impact on patient care. Maintain records and statistics in accordance with department policies. Attend and participate in staff, committee, department, and other administrative meetings. Participate in department's continuous quality improvement efforts. Provide education to other health care professionals. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program. Required Trainings/Certifications Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority. Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty. Required Experience Three (3) years nursing experience. Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
