NorthRidge is dedicated to “meeting” each attendee in their journey through experiential worship, powerful talks, community groups, and a range of other ministries.NorthRidge was not only revived, but is thriving under Senior Pastor Brad Powell’s leadership. He entered NorthRidge as a calling of faith and obedience in 1990, and successfully rebuilt and re-launched it over the past 29 years. Today, the ministry of NorthRidge Church continues to grow in impact and influence, flooding the surrounding communities with a fresh culture of faith through seven services across three locations in the communities surrounding Plymouth, Michigan.Although NorthRidge is a large church and has successfully transitioned, they are continuing to move themselves towards being an entity that can thrive with multiple campuses and a growing attendance base. The 16 word mission is a laser-focused refresh of what the church has been about for years. The leaders and congregation are ready for a new season of effectiveness; they know what got them here won’t be adequate for the path ahead. About the High School Ministries Pastor: NorthRidge is seeking world class team members who are strongly motivated to be a wake maker who will add value and have a selfless attitude of an owner (versus a hireling or tenant), looking for greater personal development and passionate about developing others.The next High School Ministries Pastor will be a dynamic leader able to draw and engage high school students from within and outside NorthRidge (Christ followers and non-Christ followers alike) to experience a meaningful opportunity to grow spiritually pursuant to NorthRidge’s 16 word mission. It will involve significant communication, teaching, volunteer team building, creative planning, and multimedia programming for all NorthRidge campuses, which span several school districts and dozens of high schools. The High School Ministries Pastor will lead the High School Ministry team under the direction of the Pastor of Next Generations. The High School Ministries Pastor's Responsibilities Include:: Pursuant to and consistent with NorthRidge’s Mission: Under the direction of the Pastor of Next Generations, lead those in the High School Ministry, while entrepreneurially pioneering and/or implementing new strategies and ministries to properly develop NorthRidge’s portfolio of spiritual development opportunities for high school students. Lead and develop current staff and volunteers in high school ministries while identifying and developing future staff and volunteers, pursuing best practices for all concerned, including self. Identify and/or develop metrics or measurements which will assist in assessing the effectiveness of the High School Ministry and the spiritual growth of the participants. Communicate and coordinate with other ministry leads, including the Middle School Pastor and Campus Pastors, as well as all others (Operations, Creative Arts, Marketing & Communications, Business Office), to ensure the highest quality experience for all involved. Participate in and contribute to brainstorming and vision sessions with other NorthRidge leaders on a wide variety of issues inside and outside any respective department or ministry area. Develop, align, and lead a high school plan/program that provides some sense of an intentional (not necessarily linear) direction through high school as preparation for the next stage of life, containing sufficient distinct levels to offer meaningful spiritual growth opportunities regardless of a participant’s spiritual maturity or denominational background. Oversee, manage, and/or coordinate the budgets of the High School Ministry. Be engaged in various aspects of NorthRidge ministries, including being present for weekend services to interact with attendees, volunteers, and staff. Use best efforts to align the High School Ministry with other student and life stage ministries, where and when appropriate, with all other ministries and weekend services to help create a sense of confluence instead of confusion. Intentionally work to create and sustain a positive momentum, a positive vibe, positive energy, and a spiritually constructive atmosphere for all concerned. Be involved in strategic planning and practical assessment of respective ministries to remain vital and dynamic, while continuously searching for improved and more effective approaches and methods. Be an effective communicator for the scope of areas and ministries within the High School Ministry. What You B ring: The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the High School Student Ministries Pastor: Education & Experience The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from a college or university, and at least three years in a ministry position involving some aspect of this position (teaching, students, etc.). Personal Characteristics & Qualifications Has a clear call from God to lead large numbers of high school students of varying spiritual maturity (and denominational backgrounds) in to a more genuine relationship with God in a manner consistent with NorthRidge’s expression of ministry. Demonstrates qualities of a dynamic follower of Christ, while being passionate to continue to grow and live authentically for Christ. Shows a strong desire to take charge with an ability to lead selflessly, while being a self-motivator, with the ability to overcome challenges and work through volunteer leaders and leadership teams. Has a significant degree of humility, teach-ability, organization, teamwork, discernment, wisdom, and strategic agility, and does not require extensive direction from others. Demonstrates a pastoral presence and participation. Has uncompromised character.Demonstrates and exudes contagious passion. Strives for continuous accountability (Matthew 18).
