Summary To be a company representative making deliveries and picking up freight by providing fast and dependable service for all customers. Full-time Shift: Monday-Friday, 10:00PM start time Essential Duties and Responsibilities Delivers freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers to company branch locations Complies with all company safety policies and DOT policies Inspects and report any mechanical problems with the vehicle Loads the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space and prevent damage to packages Collects payments for certain packages delivered Verifies the content of pickups on shipping papers Notifies management of any problems or discrepancies Maintains professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of vehicle Assists other drivers and operations personnel with other duties, as needed Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred Must be 21 years of age Ability to drive a manual transmission and be available for overtime Must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record Must possess good customer service and organizational skills Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions Physical Requirements Must be able to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and 50lbs repetitively. Some overhead lifting is required Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc Work environment requires time spent outdoors in changing weather elements as well as in a vehicle Work may involve other hazards pertaining to road conditions, vehicle operation and package content EEO and Affirmative Action Statement Spee-Dee Delivery Service, Inc is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
