Description:
Position Summary We are seeking a Network Administrator who will be responsible for maintaining the networks and systems that keep our organization running. Core duties include maintaining system security, supervising network updates and training users. Technological expertise with a wide range of computer systems, hardware devices, and software packages is essential to fulfill the duties of this position and keep the company moving forward. Responsibilities include: Maintain computer networks and systems including software, VPNs, routers, switches, firewalls and other physical hardware Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware or software issues Updating virus protection software to keep data and communications protected Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users Fixing software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems Prepare, implement, and monitor disaster procedures and recovery Required skills and qualifications: Bachelor's degrees in computer science or related technical discipline 3+ GPA US Citizenship Required 5+ years of related work experience in monitoring and maintaining network systems Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols Experience with leading server management and monitoring tools Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and forward Experience with Linux operating systems (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu) Strong communication skills for training and assisting users Ability to problem solve and think critically Attention to detail Project management skills Preferred skills and qualifications: CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ certification Experience with Dell and Cisco switches and routers Experience with network monitoring devices and software such as IDS, IPS, and SolarWinds Mainstream Engineering Corporation is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
