POSITION: Concrete Mixer Driver Trainee LOCATIONS: Layton and Ogden, Utah POSTING CLOSES: April 28, 2023 Geneva Rock is offering an entry-level mixer driver trainee program. We need dedicated, smart, and safe employees like you who want an energizing career in the Geneva Rock family. HOW WE'LL HELP YOU SUCCEED: Training for you to earn your commercial driver's license (CDL). (Normally a $3,000+ out-of-pocket cost.) Pay you the hourly introductory rate as you train. Provide a truck for your Road Test. Your responsibility for costs in getting your CDL include: Getting your Commercial Learners Permit prior to starting. Not needed to apply. Obtaining a Medical Card prior to starting. Not needed to apply. Road Test for the CDL Reasons you should be applying to Geneva Rock! Great wages Hourly Wage: $29.78/HR (After introductory period).Opportunities for significant overtime in the busy season; Overtime rate is $44.67/HR (After introductory period). WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM: Knowledge and Skills Attention and commitment to safety Ability to work well with others in a team environment Ability to follow instructions Education/Experience Must be at least 20 years old Hold a valid driver's license Driving record must be reviewed and have less than 3 moving violations Physical Requirements PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Sitting: 50% of time Standing : 20% of time Driving: 30% of time Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head. Physical Movement: May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab, and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day. Speaking/Listening : Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. Working Conditions : 40% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
