MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH / HISTORY TEACHER POSITION Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of the CGPS curriculum and the success of its students. The Middle School English / History Teacher is committed to continuously improving curriculum and instruction for these subject areas through collaboration as part of a grade level departmental team. RESPONSIBILITIES Implements curricula and activities to meet academic standards Designs and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards Uses assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices Participates in collaborative curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions Provides consistent rewards and/or consequences for student behavior Is accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues Provides a multitude of cultural lenses to instruction Creates classroom and school environment where students are expected to take responsibilities for their decisions and conduct themselves with excellent character QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree Required; NYS Teaching Certification preferred Mastery of and enthusiasm for English and History; Drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom; Proven track-record of high achievement in the classroom; Evidence of self-motivation and willingness to be a team player; Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred; and Valid State Certification is helpful but not required. Belief in and alignment with CGPS’ core beliefs and educational philosophy is non-negotiable COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $71,000.00 - $118,500.00 We also offer a generous compensation package.
