Tempe Elementary School District invites applications for the following position: Middle School Counselor School Year: 2024-2025 Location: Mosley Middle School Job Description: To provide guidance curriculum, student planning, responsive services and system support to students, parents, teachers and administrators to promote maximum academic, career, and social/personal growth for all students. Qualifications: Master Degree Arizona Guidance Counselor Certificate Three (3) years of instructional experience in a school setting (preferred) Knowledge of special education laws, procedures, practices, materials, equipment, and compliance standards required to provide appropriate learning experiences for special education students. Good knowledge of the nature and effects of the impairment(s) in all areas of disability. Experience in consultation/collaboration with regular classroom teachers; ability to coordinate activities with related and specialist staff Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, parents, and the community; excellent human relations skills; skill in both oral and written communication; ability to work in a multicultural environment with a diverse population of students, staff, and parents Ability to travel to more than one work location in the course of the day as assigned May be required to control certain behavior(s) through physical restraint Obtain and maintain current NCI, First Aid, and CPR certification Ability to assess needs, develop and implement IEP, and evaluate outcomes in specialty Ability to coordinate activities with related and specialist staff
