Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett), an award winning environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consulting and engineering firm, is seeking to fill multiple full-time Environmental Engineers/Scientist positions for a unique contractor position at a Federal agency located in Huntsville, AL and overseas. Candidate(s) must be capable of providing a broad spectrum of environmental support for Department of Defense (DoD) system testing, and facilities planning, design, construction, operation, and sustainment for the firm's Federal client with global locations. The individuals hired for these positions must be able to work both independently, as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team at a Federal client site. Support a variety of environmental activities and programs for the Agency, including NEPA, permitting and environmental compliance. Travel to Agency locations is required. Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental engineering, environmental science, natural resources, or a related engineering/science field. Master's degree preferred. Five (5) - 10+ years of relevant environmental work experience. Professional Engineer or other relevant registration is a plus. National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) experience including Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements. Experience providing environmental management and technical support related to facility and weapons systems planning, development, acquisition, fielding, testing, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Demonstrated ability supporting execution of environmental policies, studies, environmental permitting, impact analysis, and management of environmental activities, including document preparation. Demonstrated technical and theoretical knowledge of environmental planning, management, and compliance. Experience supporting the technical environmental analysis and evaluations to identify, assesses, and resolve problems concerning the environment; determining presence of pollutants and ability to discern appropriate actions. Experience providing environmental support for design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and natural environments, and infrastructures. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures for environmental compliance assessments and audits. Works as a member of team and assists with solving complex environmental problems and issues. Prior military or Federal consulting experience is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication and computer skills. Ability to work in the field, work outdoors, and lift 60 lbs. Ability to telework, is required. Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid driver's license and able to successfully pass a pre-employment and Federal background check, successfully obtain a Federal security clearance, as well as pre-employment drug screen, to include cannabis. Candidates with an active Secret clearance or higher are preferred. Key Responsibilities Support a variety of environmental activities and programs for the Agency, including NEPA, permitting and environmental compliance. Travel to Agency locations is required. Base Location This position is based in Huntsville, Alabama. However, travel (1 - 2 weeks at a time) may be required for specific project work throughout the United States and overseas.
