The ideal candidate will have hands-on familiarity with devising practical solutions for companies subject to FTC jurisdiction and state privacy laws, focusing on ad tech, ed tech, fintech, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, and emerging technologies. Additionally, the candidate must have experience in drafting privacy, data handling, and cybersecurity policies and conducting privacy due diligence for deals and other corporate transactions. Familiarity with cross-border data transactions is a plus. Outstanding academic credentials, comparable law firm experience, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.Duties:Devise practical solutions for companies subject to FTC jurisdiction and state privacy laws.Focus on ad tech, ed tech, fintech, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, and emerging technologies like IoT, blockchain, and biometrics.Draft privacy, data handling, and cybersecurity policies.Conduct privacy due diligence for deals and other corporate transactions.Assist in cross-border data transactions as needed.Requirements:3-5 years of relevant experience.Hands-on familiarity with FTC jurisdiction and state privacy laws.Experience in ad tech, ed tech, fintech, COPPA, CAN-SPAM, and emerging technologies.Outstanding academic credentials.Comparable law firm experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Admission to the Bar in the jurisdiction of practice (Washington, DC preferred).Any additional certifications related to data privacy and cybersecurity are advantageous.Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skills.Ability to devise practical solutions within legal frameworks.Proficiency in drafting legal documents and policies.Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.Detail-oriented approach to work.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
