About the Position : Under close supervision, this position provides non-professional direct or indirect care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient care setting. This includes participation in de-escalation activities and assuring that consumers are kept safe. This position acts as a role model for consumers, demonstrating effective problem solving and decision-making skills and will assist in providing recreational and therapeutic activities for the consumer, transporting residents to and from medical appointments, and assuring scheduled programming is carried out. This position is specifically to help in our lab setting - will obtain lab specimens and works as a phlebotomist for in-patient and out-patient consumers. Also responsible for transporting residents to and from medical appointments and to discharge destinations across Oklahoma. Job Type/Salary: Full time position $16.59 hourly, plus: Extra $.50/hour for hours after 3 pm Extra $.75/hour for Saturday & Sunday Extra $1/hour for hours worked at Griffin Memorial Hospital Generous Benefits allowance 15 days sick AND 15 days annual leave per year Up to 7% 401k match Primary Working Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, M-F Every 6 weeks, one week of 6 am - 3 pm shift required Paid on-call required - once every 5 weeks including the weekend. FLSA Status is Non-Exempt. 4/12/2024 or until filled Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Two years of experience in providing behavioral health patient care. Possesses a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety. Must believe that recovery is possible! Special Requirements: Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds. Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license. Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides in-patient hospital care for those in need of mental health & substance abuse services.
