Whether your experience is clinical or clerical, all employees at Coastal Cancer Center are needed and valued.Coastal Cancer Center is looking to fill a Medical Laboratory Technician position. The MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician) is primarily responsible for performing routine tests in a medical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease by performing the following duties in accordance with Coastal Cancer Center values. Duties to include but are not limited to: Assists with performing phlebotomy and collecting appropriate specimens from patients as ordered. Assists with special procedures as needed (i.e. bone marrows in the room). Follows the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining results in lab system. Maintains and operates all laboratory equipment. Performs daily, weekly and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated. Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies and documents all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance. Participates in proficiency testing. Requirements: Associates degree in medical technology or laboratory science. ASCP or equivalent certification preferred but not required. 3-7 years of experience. Candidate must have excellent computer skills, experience in EHR, be able to multi-task and have great people skills.
