This position performs varied clerical/clinical duties, assists the physicians and clinical staff in maintaining an efficient and effective clinical operation. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accompany physician during patient examination. Document examination findings and/or procedures performed by the physicianPlace orders as dictated by the physicianDocument results of testing and labs as dictated by the physicianMaintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentationDemonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by the physician within the electronic medical recordAssist and direct patients within the clinic settingClean and disinfect exam rooms and testing/procedure areas per clinic guidelinesMatch records against source documents to verify accuracy of records and compliance with rules and procedures of appropriate system; resolve discrepancies in records by contacting appropriate office to obtain information on source of discrepancy and following through on changing any errors in documentationTreat all patient information and communication regarding patient care with complete confidentiality and comply with all HIPPA regulationsAssist patient and physician during laser proceduresPerform ancillary testing, including but not limited to Visual Field testing and OCT testingTravel to Satellite Locations for scheduled shiftsPerform other related duties incidental to the work described herein JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS High school education or equivalentSix months of health care experience requiredSome roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
