We attract and retain premier medical professionals with competitive compensation, benefits, and a nurturing work atmosphere that unites passion and purpose.Learn more about us: https://dhip.dukehealth.org/about-us $5,000 Commitment Bonus | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (received at 6 months and 12 months). ** Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.** JOB LOCATION: North Carolina EENT - 1010 Tryon Village Drive, Cary, NC JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified in our North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic located in Cary to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform intake with patients to include vital signs, visit information, and other clinical information as indicated. Greet and screen patients for symptoms of illness in accordance with health center guidelines. Assists with maintaining patient records into electronic medical record system. Document patient encounters following established protocols. Performs tasks such as set up for clinical procedures, high level disinfection & sterilization or other miscellaneous appropriate tasks within scope of practice. Attain prior authorizations for medications and durable medical equipment as indicated. Participates in performance improvement projects. JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred. High school or GED graduation required. Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required. BLS required JOB HOURS: The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.Some roles within our organization may encompass essential job functions requiring distinct physical and/or mental capabilities.
