You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts to determine the origin and root causes of accidents, equipment malfunctions, product defects, and other mechanical failure related issues. Your findings will be essential in helping clients make informed decisions and resolving complex legal and insurance matters. * Investigate mechanical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. Determine causes of mechanical system failures and assess design/construction quality or maintenance procedures. * Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi-party examinations. Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi-disciplinary teams. * Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations; Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients. * Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases to testify about damages and professional liability.Essential expertise to ensure success: * Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline required. * Active P.E. license in state of assignment required. (or on-track in obtaining P.E.) * Minimum of [X] years' experience in mechanical engineering field. * Willingness to travel to clients' sites (25-30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.Elevated expertise to excel/stand-out: * Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus. * 5 years' experience evaluating mechanical failures in a commercialorindustrial setting preferred. * Power systems experience (generators,transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; Electro-mechanical experience is desirable. * Experienced working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters preferred.Expand your expertise: * Mentorship program - you are joining a network of experts and it's an opportunity to collaborate and learn from experts within and outside of your discipline. * Continue your education to your heart's content and we'll reimburse your tuition* * Knowledge Center is an avenue to showcase your expertise and your technical/creative writing skills. * Webinars is platform for you if you love public speaking and have a passion to share your expertise and make a direct impact to our clients and colleagues.One Company/One Team is not just one of our 5 Guiding Principles, it's we how separate ourselves from our competitors.
