Apply today and take a step closer towards a rewarding career.Position Summary: This position is responsible for component and assembly design, drafting and documentation for all parts manufactured in the Technical Services Group or by outside vendors.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Applies Good Manufacturing Principles in all areas of responsibility. -Reviews project instructions and blueprints to ascertain procedures, objectives, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions such as equipment or process redesign, substitution of materials or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies. -Provide both formal and informal support for the members of the group. -Provide necessary research, analysis and justification for the approval of requisitions. -Complete projects and tasks in alignment with departmental procedures and objectives. -Provide the necessary attention and communication to internal and external customers, including support and follow up on a regular basis. -Perform daily responsibilities by completing each request in a suitable time frame, offering the most optimal solution(s) to the current situation. -Achieve and maintain a working knowledge of departmental procedures and company SOP's. -Ensure that all information concerning project investigations, equipment discrepancies and relevant processes and capabilities are understood and documented.-Alert management and relevant departments of any inefficiencies or problems. -Achieve and maintain the necessary level of knowledge regarding current packaging processes, materials and information through communication with vendors, attending seminars and trade shows and subscribing to trade magazines and other publications. -Complete projects and initiatives under the direction of the department management. -Maintain and regularly submit a report detailing individual progress. -Assist with the research and justification of new technologies and equipment. -Understand, follow and emphasize safety and operational requirements as specified by each piece of equipment. -Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.Education/ Experience: -Associate's degree in Drafting/Design -Component design and drafting skills required -Position requires a minimum of 18 months experience using SolidWorks -Proficiency with drafting (AutoCAD) required -CNC Programming software (MasterCAM) preferable -Computer knowledge, including experience in Windows is required -Position requires solid math skills along with a working knowledge of Geometry and Trigonometry- Knowledge of 3D scanner with Geomagic X and Veriserv Software a plus.Basic Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.Internal and External Contacts: Position has internal contact with Engineering, Client Services, Operations Services, Quality Assurance, Production and members of the Senior Management Team. The external contact will include customer tours and vendor-related communications. Ability and/or Skills: Good mechanical aptitude, above average responsibility, and ability to work with minimum supervision.
