Mechanic POSITION SUMMARY: The mechanic performs service and installation activities associated with maintenance and repair services, in a safe, accurate and timely manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Follow Service Standards procedures. Brake work, suspension work, exhaust work, under hood services, and all auto mechanical work assigned. Perform safety check on all vehicles. Test drive customer vehicles serviced by you and other personnel. Must possess a valid driver’s license. The ability to follow all safety rules. The ability to appear for work on time. The ability to follow directions from supervisor. The ability to interact effectively with co-workers. The ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures. The ability to accept constructive criticism. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: Answer telephone inquiries with respect to repairs and maintenance. Complete work accurately in a timely manner to create profit for the company and commission for Mechanic. Clean facilities, tools, and equipment Greet guests. Alignment check and services Drain oil and replace filter. Check and fill various fluids. Check and replace various vehicle filters. Installing and checking batteries All other as indicated by management. Qualifications PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Have a vision correctable to 20/ 40. Have Normal Hearing. Be able to bend forward from the waist. Be able to stand, reach and work on autos overhead. Be able to lift and or move products a minimum of 50 pounds. Be able to lift car hoods from a standing position. Be able to assume a squatting position and return to a standing position. Be able to stand on feet for an eight-hour period. Be able to repeat all of the above motions over an eight-hour period. SKILL PREREQUISITE: Be able to speak, read and write English. Must have a valid driver’s license. UNIFORM: Black industrial pant with belt, black industrial shirt. Shirt is to be tucked into pants. Black oil resistant shoes and personal protective equipment.
