Defense contractor involved with product development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles in the Los Angeles International Airport area. Witha 60+ year foundation, The Marvin Group supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. We support many military prime contractors including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon. JOB RESPONSIBILITES: :Read and interpret blueprints, illustrations, and specifications to determine layouts, assemblysequences, or identities and relationships of parts and materials:Align, fit and install structural, mechanical, electro:mechanical, hydraulic, and or pneumaticcomponents:Extensive use of basic hand tools, i.e., screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammer, ratchets and sockets:Set:up, operate, and maintain a variety of drilling, grinding, and riveting equipment (Cherry and Huck):Cut, trim, file, bend, and smooth parts, while verifying size and fit tolerances using precisionmeasuring tools:Align and fit structural assemblies and drill hole patterns utilizing jigs and fixtures:Perform other related duties as may be required SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS :Must read and interpret blueprints, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine layouts and sequences of operations:Must perform work in compliance with all work instructions, procedures, and safety policies:Extensive use of basic hand tools and expected to set:up, operate and maintain power tools, and equipment such as drills and rivet guns (Cherry and Huck):Must understand the proper set up and use of drill jigs:Must be experienced in the use of basic precision inspection measurement tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, and must be able to read a precision scale:Must be able to work with minimum level of supervision and able to determine the proper tools and support equipment needed to achieve all task elements:Will erect structural assemblies by installing and connecting parts, fittings, and sub assemblies utilizing jigs, fixtures and hand layout of sheet metal part placement, hole patterns, and including the application of coatings, sealants and adhesives:Must have experience fabricating components by cutting, trimming, filing, bending, and smoothing parts while verifying sizes and tolerances in order to ensure proper fit and clearance:Install fasteners such as bolts, screws, rivets, blind nuts, Helicoils, and Keenserts:May specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional parts and assemblies:Airframe assembly experience a plus:Perform other related duties as may be required. Will not be required to operate machine tools or presses.:Must have effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills:Must have Highschool Diploma or equivalent:Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English PHYSICAL DEMANDS :Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and climbing:Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally assist others to lift and/or move up to 50 poundsThis position must meet export control compliance requirements.
