Description:
A materials scientist capable of investigating basic and applied biomedical research and technology. You will be responsible for conducting hands-on experiments in biomedical testing, process optimization, material characterization, and new method development, as well as executing research programs. You will be required to document and summarize key discoveries into technical reports and presentations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport the study of basic and applied biomedical materials' properties for novel medical device development, including but not limited to surgical devices and implantsContribute to the consultation and testing of biomaterials and coatings related to medical devices, surgical devices, implants, etc.Conduct biological evaluation experiments for new materials as well as material performance testing, including coordination, execution, and/or analysis of material characterization (SEM, TEM, XRD, XFS, XPS, etc.)Responsible for interpreting experimental data, comparing with literature results, and writing/submitting technical reportsQualificationsMaster's degree or above in Biological Science, Materials Science, and Chemical Engineering, greater than 3 years of work experience in industry or academia is preferredPossess knowledge/expertise in materials, biology, biomedical and laboratory methodologyStrong technical foundation in biomedical evaluation for new materialsLab metrology, new methodology development capabilitiesProcess optimization and SOP development capabilitiesAnalytical problem-solving skillsStrong organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to build relationships and interact with teamsAbility to effectively present informationAbility to adjust smoothly according to situationsLocationsShirley, NYJob TypeFull-timeJob FamilyResearch & DevelopmentJob ID#10176261
