Materials Inventory Analyst

Summary: To assist Operations department in identifying and correcting variances between perpetual inventory in SAP and physical inventory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Runs reports from Command, SAP, and DSS and distribute to business. Reconciles entries in different systems to ensure consistency. Develops ad hoc reports for assisting in locating discrepancies. Assists in developing and implementing procedures relating to inventory tracking within the operations group. Assists operations group in posting entries into inventory systems. Assists PCT in identifying and resolving variances with goods receipts tickets. Assists Shared Services and Sales department in ensuring that building materials are billed properly and impact inventory accurately. Works with operations in reconciling monthly physical counts and resolving variances. Ensures business is following SOX procedures and posting documentation to VCNA SOX self-audit site as needed. Performs physical inventories as needed. Enters goods receipts into production/finance systems as needed. Competency: Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, often making quick, informed decisions. Attention to detail and superior organization skills are required. Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and aptitude for figures. Communications: Good presentation skills along with strong, sound oral and written communication skills Initiative: Strong organizational and prioritizing skills. Innovation: Position requires original thinking and creativity along with some detailed instruction. Job Knowledge: Familiarity with ready mix materials a plus Judgment: Common sense and logic required. Planning and Organization: Ability to multi-task and meet deliverables in a deadline driven environment along with strong organizational skills. Problem Solving: There will be some independent problem solving with this position. Quality: Attention to detail is a must. Teamwork: The position operates both independently and as part of a team. Education and/or Experience: Associate's Degree and two-four years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret procedure manuals and reports. Good writing skills on memos, e-mails and correspondence. Ability to speak and explain clearly and effectively with employees, management staff, vendors and customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages. Ability to analyze and present numerical data in tables, spreadsheets and graphical forms. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to problem solve on a senior level and liaise with both internal clients and external consultants. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Access. Knowledge of or ability to learn about SAP.
