Position Summary This position is responsible for managing the development, direction, and control of the bank's business banking or commercial lending relationships within the assigned market. Has direct supervision over the Commercial Relationship Officers or Business Banking Officers. Is responsible for making commercial loans within established lending limits with full accountability for all of the business banking activities. Essential Requirements, Duties, and Responsibilities Develops and manages all types of commercial banking relationships. Interviews applicants, gathers and evaluates financial and related data to establish credit worthiness, establishes and re-negotiates credit terms, when necessary. Continually monitors customers' financial condition and repayment progress. Assesses clients' banking and financial needs. Has a leadership role in the bank's business development activities. Attracts new business relationships and expands existing business relationships. Supervises the activities of a team of Business Bankers or Commercial Relationship Officers. Reviews loans for appropriate structure and relationship approach prior to approval. Leads team in use of nCino/Salesforce sales management through utilizing data available around prospecting, client outreach, and overall team activities driven toward targeted sales efforts. Monitors individual performance of staff monthly and annually. Follows established performance management routines for weekly sales meetings and check-in's as well as monthly and quarterly performance coaching. Routinely observes Relationship Officer interactions with prospects and clients. Works with Human Resources Department and other lending leadership to recruit and hire relationship officers staff as necessary. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Recommends modifications to bank lending policies and procedures; ensures that necessary changes are implemented expeditiously. Recommends marketing programs for assigned team. Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis through various training resources. Oversees portfolio management quality of team, including but not limited to delinquencies, maturities, line renewals, call dates, risk ratings, and doc exceptions. Maintains professional community relations to increase the bank's visibility and new business opportunities, and to further personal development. Responsible for understanding the Bank's BSA/AML Policy, including satisfactory completion of required annual BSA/AML training as applicable to position and appropriately applying this knowledge to daily activities and responsibilities, specifically understanding that any suspicious activity must be reported to the BSA Officer immediately. Educational & Other Requirements Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years direct experience in designated lending segment (CRE, C&I or Business Banking), with previous supervisory experience preferred. Thorough understanding of Financial Statements, tax returns, and credit approval process. Strong human relations, communication, sales, financial leadership and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills in order to maximize business contacts and develop a working relationship with potential and current commercial customers. Motivation and drive must be exhibited.
